Brigadoon
Brumbies

Kids

Hi Everyone,

My name is Basil and I am a brumby horse, we are horses who were introduced into Australia and adapted to living in the bush by ourselves. We are tough, hardy and curious horses who live in mobs in remote bush areas of Australia.

I live here at the Brigadoon Riding for the Disabled centre with all my friends; there is Shadow, Keyto, Princess and Mattie, to name just a few. They all have such an important job; do you know what they do?

The horses at Brigadoon RDA help lots of children with disabilities and special needs to move their bodies and learn
lots of new skills that most children can do easily.  Horseriding is lots of fun and my horse friends love helping our riders.

At RDA all the horses have their own special job and mine is to help people learn about RDA. When we aren't working all the horses get together and relax in the paddock. I love to play tag with Mattie; he likes to think he can run almost as fast as I can. Shadow and I like to hang out under the trees and have a chat. What I love most of all is to hide in the paddock so nobody can find me just like the wild Brumbies in the Australian bush.

I have a fabulous life at Riding for the Disabled. I hope you enjoy all the fun games in our Kids Zone and perhaps we will see you at our centre one day soon for some real fun!

Thanks
