Centre Wish List

We would not be able to operate our centre without the help and support of riders, volunteers, sponsors and the community. Below is our centre wish list of things we need and would like to help improve the service we offer.

TACK

  • Helmets (AS3939 - less than 5 years from date of manufacture)
Safety is our primary concern and all riders are required to wear riding helmets which are provided for them, however with safety in mind they are required to be Australian Standard 3939 and must not be older than 5 years from manufacture.).
  • Riding boots - elastic sides
It is another safety requirement of RDA that all riders have suitable closed toe shoes for riding, so we aim to provide riding boots for all riders.
  • Saddles
Saddles are a necessary piece of equipment for the provision of our services. Some horses require a variety of saddles to meet the needs of various riders i.e. all purpose and stock.
  • Bridles
Bridles are again a necessary piece of equipment for the provision of our services.

HORSES

  • Sound and quiet weight bearing horses up to 15.2hh (Welsh Cob types are ideal)
Our centre is in need of some good weight bearing horses so we can offer services to heavier clients. Our horses at present are not capable of carry more than 65kg.

FACILITIES

  • Shade cover
We have a small play area for riders and siblings and in order to make this area sun smart for them we are aiming to have shade cloth erected.
  • Covered Arena
Our riders are currently missing out on valuable therapy sessions due to wet weather and extreme heat and although we have the use of the State Equestrian Centre it is often booked on the days we ride. We would love to cover one of our arenas so riders and volunteers can continue their sessions in all weathers.

GENERAL EQUIPMENT

  • We are always looking for new games equipment and ideas to incorporate into our sessions.

If you can help with any of the above either through in-kind donations, financial contributions towards them or sponsorship please contact us to discuss further.
