RDA Brigadoon facilities are located in the picturesque Swan Valley. In 2007 RDA Brigadoon entered into an agreement with the State Equestrian Centre and Equestrian WA to develop an old unused dressage arena for the purpose of providing RDA programs to those living with disabilities and special needs within the surrounding areas. All lot of thought was put into designing the arena and providing space for future activities that would make RDA Brigadoon a showcase centre in Western Australia.
The arena is split into 3 sections a large 60 x 20m riding arena suitable for dressage and mounted games, a smaller square arena for the provision of the unique RDA Hippotherapy program and a small mounting arena for the safe mounting of riders be it from mounting steps or ramp.
The centre started its operations from the back of a car and a small garden shed however thanks to generous sponsors such as Lotterywest and the Outer Metropolitan Fund and the work of many volunteers the centre has grown and now boasts a transportable administration block including toilet, a large equipment shed, tack shed, hay shed, horse stalls and we are continually adding to facilities to accomodate the needs of our riders, volunteers and horses.
Our facilities are available for use by other RDA centres for various activities and due to the close proximity with the State Equestrian Centre are quite often used by external equestrian groups. For more information about use of our centre facilities please contact us.
